Tower Hamlets Foodbank is a new initiative to the borough which BGMC, alongside other churches and agencies, is very pleased to partner in. The 'Foodbank' is a store where food donated by the local community is banked and is given to people in crisis from distribution centres around the borough. Three days of free emergency food is available for individuals and families (10 balanced meals).

BGMC will open up as a distribution centre on Friday 10th June and will be open every Friday from 10am-1pm for people who have been given a unique voucher from an organisation they have been in touch with. At the centre there will be an opportunity to have some refreshments and a chance to find out about other services and support that is available if needed.

BGMC also acts as a voucher holder who can give vouchers to those who fit the criteria and we have a collection point where food can be donated for the project. The distribution centre will be run by volunteers from the church and other local churches and if you would like to get involved in this new initiative please contact us.
