Sunday
We believe that BGMC is a gathered and scattered community of disciples who seek to follow Jesus. Sundays are important but only if they help us to live for God more faithfully and fruitfully during the rest of the week in our workplaces, homes and neighbourhoods.
When we meet together on a Sunday, we try to be real with God and each other. We enjoy the noise of children and reality that life and church can be messy and diverse, but hopefully never dull. Our relationships matter the most, so we don’t do dress codes, please come as you are.
Our Sunday service starts at around 11am and every week is different but there is usually a mixture of worship – sung and spoken, teaching, prayer and an opportunity for all to be involved. Since the pandemic, we have been using tables to sit around, so you may find our Sunday format a little different from other churches. There is also tea and coffee available throughout the service. We enjoy talking about what we hear and most Sundays there is a chance to discuss and ask questions about what is said and done. We try to be a multi-voiced community so there are different people leading the service and taking part each week.
Once a month we celebrate communion. There is a Junior Church for children and young people under 15. If you have any particular child-care needs and are planning on visiting us, perhaps get in touch via the contact page on this site? The sermon each Sunday is recorded and can be heard or downloaded here.
